Tata Motors' first batch of 25 Nano's, internally called as the 'pilot batch' will be ready by September 15, precisely a fortnight before the car is scheduled to hit the road. The Tatas has set a deadline on August 15 for key vendors that supply equipment. Vendors such as Caparo Group, JBM Auto, Rucha Engineering and Rasandik Engineering who supply the core sheet metal for Nano. Tata Motors has also asked its remaining component suppliers to rush in their supplies within the first week of September, bulk of whom are setting up units at the adjacent Singur vendor park. Tata Motors has also told vendors to ship Nano components from their other units, if their new facilities in Singur are not up and running within the stipulated time. The formal trial run of Nano's pilot batch will kick-off shortly after September 15.
